In the Gouverneur Herald is found the following: "In Gouverneur, March
20, 1889, to Mr. and Mrs. S.A. McMonagle, a son." This Samuel McMonagle
settled in Cheboygan Co, MI and eventually married my grandfather's
sister, Judith Ann MONTGOMERY. In St. Lawrence, his wife was Minnie.
Their son Ray noted in birth announcement here; a dau. Vera b. Aug 1893,
Colorado. Samuel m. Judith in 1913, he a widower and she having been
widowed twice before this marriage. Samuel owned a sawmill in Cheboygan
Co.

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone researching the McMonagle
family of St. Lawrence. Samuel notes that his father was b. Scotland,
mother b. NY.

Other St. Lawrence families in my lines who settled in Cheboygan Co
include SCHOOLCRAFT, HUNGERFORD, BEEBE, BABCOCK, CORY, WAKEFORD.
