For what it's worth, my Uncle Dean Conroy b. 1906 (son of Homer Conroy b. 1874)originally from Hammond/Morristown NY, married Aletha Rickard b. 1901 d. 1997. I only mention this because it's the general area of Massena NY, of which you write. If Aletha is closely related to your Rickards I would like to know.
