The remains of John Scott Murray, who died Sunday at the County House, Canton, were brought here Monday afternoon and intered in the Hammond cemetery. Mr. Murray was born in Penicurks, Scotland. He came to Hammond from his native land on June, 1907. His family came the following October. He was a stone mason by trade and an excellent work man. His services were always in great demand and he did consideralbe work for people of wealth who had summer homes on the St. Lawrence river. He was a well posted man and could talk intelligently on most any subject. Eight years ago he became afflicted with sarcoma and although he was a patient at the Hepburn hospital for some time, he could get no relief.
For the past few years he has been a great sufferer. Besides his widow he is survived by three sons, John, Alexander and Harold. Burial services were in charge of his pastor, Rev. Dr. Ferguson.
