Hi Bob - you might want to re-post your note and give as many specifics as you can about each surname of interest. Birth, death, and marriage dates for the people leading up to where you lose the trail can help others point out possible resources for you. It makes a big difference whether you are searching the late 1880's or the early 1800's. Also, for readability, it's best not to use all caps in notes. On the internet, that is the equivalent of SHOUTING.

A site that might be very helpful is the St. Lawrence county site under usgenweb. Start at www.usgenweb.org, click on 'state's projects page' then 'graphical map of U.S.' then N.Y. state. Next, click on 'county selection page' then use the drop down list of counties to select St. Lawrence county. There are some census and cemetery indexes by Ann Cady that might prove useful.

Also, go to www.google.com and type in the name of any person living or dead, and you may get some hits. Be sure to try first name first and then retry with last name first.

Hope this helps-
Russ Sprague, Kensington, MD
