I have a record of Henry Ellis, married to Sadie Pelot (Pelow), born 2 Sep 1888 and died 30 Nov 1951. I don't know anything about Henry Ellis but Sadie was first married to William Peats (abt 1872-1943). William was a son of Charles Peats and Mary Bowen of Hopkinton, St. Lawrence County, NY. Sadie was the daughter of Adolphus Pelot, born in Fort Covington on 18 Apr 1850 and Mary Votra, born about 1852. Adolphus Pelot was the son of Leverius(?) Pelot and Matilde Boliere, married 18 Jun 1849 in St. Mary's Church, Fort Covington, Franklin County, NY.

My Peats or Peets relatives descend from the name Jean Pitre (abt 1636-abt 1689), who was born in Flanders, Belgium and migrated to Port Royale, Acadie. His wife was Marie Pesselet and there is a good deal of documentation of this family online.
