I went to www.google.com and searched on 'clearo surname' and a few hits came up. Starting at www.rootsweb.com you can search for 'clearo' or 'cleroux' and likely find other links and people researching the name.

Watertown, NY is in neighboring Jefferson county (you posted your note to St. Lawrence county). Again, starting at www.rootsweb.com, you can research different message boards (including Canadian) and leave messages there. It's always best to be as specific as possible by including any know birth, death, marriage dates and places where people lived.

Step number is always to talk to your oldest living relatives (including in laws) even if you have never spoken or written to them in the past. Someone may have a great deal they could tell you but you have to ask them first.
