Your note is posted on a St. Lawrence county, NY message list but there
is no indication that these people lived there. Do you know what town
in the county or in NY state they lived in? Why you think they lived in
St. Lawrence county?

The 1880 census is online at www.familysearch.org. A search for Nels
Nelson, born in Denmark returns 161 hits. A search for Hendrikke
returns no hits. In any case you don't know if they were in the country
in 1880. Not sure what else to say as there is so little to go with.
Keep posting queries at message boards that make sense (there would be a
rootsweb message board for Olmsted county for example) and maybe
something will come up.

Hope this helps -

My husband's mother, Dora Elvina Nelson, was born in Rock Dell Township,
Olmsted County, MN, on 22 Aug 1893.
Her parents are listed on her B-certificate as Nels Christ Nelson and
Hendrikke - both born in Denmark. Mother Chapin remembers being taken
to an orphanage about the time she was 6 years old. Any idea where that
orphanage might be? Or any other info about family members would be
helpful. She remembers an older brother and sister and a younger
brother who may have gone to the orphanage with her. Mother Chapin is
now deceased.

Thank you for any info you might have,
Phyllis J. Chapin
