I have mention of Martin Dempsey in a letter dated 1874 from a relative, Michael b. 1822 in Portarlington Co. Queens, emigrating through Canada to Ny. area. Other siblings to Michael were Mary married Kelly, Christopher, Cornelius, James somewhere in Ny. and Peter. I am not certain if the Martin in the letter is your Martin, but this letter mentions " remember me to what is left of the Martin Dempsey family"
