The funeral for Mrs. Florence W. Burleigh, 87, was held Friday afternoon at Burr-Green Funeral Home, Rev. Stanley E. Brown, pastor, United Methodisy Church, officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Burleigh,, a retired restaurant worker, died Thursday, June 14 in Edward John Noble hospital, where she had been a patient two days.
There are no survivors.
Born at Edwards Aug. 17, 1885, daughter of Henry and Celestia Burt Webb, she moved to the village as a child and attended local schools. She worked for years in several Gouverneur restaurants including the Log Cabin, Lido, and Raymo's. Her marriage to Garfield Burleigh ended in divorce.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxliary.
