Quite a bit can be found on the families of Edward and Bridget Kelly Ruddy's families in the census listings for Madrid.

In 1850, Edward is with his family in Madrid:
1) Michael Ruddy, age 50, born Ireland, Farmer, real estate=$1000
2) Martha, age 46, born Ireland
3) Mary, age 19, born NY
4) John, age 14, born NY
5) Edward, age 13, born NY
6) Nancy, age 12, born NY
7) Martha, age 10, born NY

In 1860, he's still there:
1) Michael Ruddy, age 67, Farmer, born Ireland, Real Estate=$4575, Personal Estate = $1000
2) Martha, age 61, housework
3) Mary, age 38?
4) John, age 24, Farmer
5) Edward, age 23, Farmer
6) Jane, age 4 (later listed as a daughter....but seems more like a granddaughter based on age)

In 1860 I also find Bridget for the first time (I think):
1) Patrick Kelly, age 60, born Ireland, Farmer, real estate=$1800, personal estate=$550 (age could be 50?)
2) Ann, age 60, born Ireland (age could be 50?)
3) Bridget, age 20, born Ireland
4) Patrick, age 18, Farmer, born Ireland
5) Ann, age 15, born Ireland
6) Jane, age 9, born NY

In 1870, Edward and Bridget are married and live with some of Edward's family:
1) Edward Ruddy, age 33, Farmer, born NY
2) Bridget, age 33, born Ireland
3) Martha, age 68, born Ireland
4) Mary, age 38
5) Jane, age 13

The Kelly's are still in Madrid as well:
1) Patrick Kelly, age 27, Farmer
2) Ann, age 59
3) Ann, age 24
4) Jane, age 18

In 1880, Edward and Bridget have expanded their family:
1) Edward Ruddy, age 43, born NY, Farmer
2) Bridget, age 44, born Ireland
3) Elizabeth, age 9, daughter, born NY
4) Frederick J., 5, son, born NY
5) Mary, sister, age 48
6) Martha, mother, age 78
7) Jane, sister, age 24
8) Frederick Pew, worker

In 1900 (Still in Madrid) the listing is:
1) Edward Ruddy, age 63, b. Mar 1837, married 30 years, born New York, Farmer
2) Bridget, age 64, b. Apr 1836, married 30 years, born Ireland, 3 children, 2 living
3) Elizabeth, daughter, age 28, b. Jan 1872, born NY
4) Frederic J., son, age 24, b. Oct 1875, born NY, Farmer
5) Mary, sister, age 70, born NY

And, in 1920:
1) Fred J. Ruddy, age 45, born NY, General Farmer
2) Jennie, age 41
3) Mary, age 6
4) Margaret, age 3
5) George, age 2
6) Bridget, age 81, Widow

So....Edward died between 1900 and 1920, and Bridget died after 1920 but before 1930 (she's not in that census).
