Depending on what other respsonses you get, you could likely find an obit or death announcment from the old Courier Freeman on microfilm via interlibrary loan. This site:

http://www.nysl.nysed.gov/nysnp/

lists NY state newspapers on microfilm. The Courier is available for 1861-1989. Be sure to read the section on the site about interlibrary loan. If you have not done original research from old papers before I think you will find it's a blast. You see all the leading stories, opinions and advertisements of those past times.
