Fine- The funeral for Mrs. Mary Knapp Demmon, who died at the Potsdam hospital, Oct. 15, from heart disease, was held here at the Methodist Episcopal church at 1 p.m. today after prayer services at the home at 12:30.
She was born in Fine Dec. 3, 1858, a daughter of Aruna L. Kilbourne and Dency Brooks. She was married in 1880 to William H. Knapp of Fine. One daughter, Mabel, was born to Them. Both Mr. Knapp and daughter died several years ago at Aurora, Ia., where the family lived after leaving Fine, many years ago. After their death Mrs. Knapp moved back to her old home and Feb. 28, 1922, she was married to U.S. Demmon of Fine, who survives her.
One grandson, Donald Gould, of Aurora,Ia., who has arrived here, also survives. He will take the body of his grandmother to Aurora for burial. A brother, Ruben Kilbourne, of Harrisville, two great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces also survive.
