I'm not sure why your note is posted to the St. Lawrence county message board as there is no apparent connection to the county. You may want to try Franklin county (where Malone is located) and VT where George apparently lived and died.

The 1880 census lists a George White b. 1833 that might be yours except his wife's name is Mary, not Elizabeth. He is listed in Randolph, VT., with two daughters, Clara and Carrie. If your George White had two daughters by those names then he likely is the one you are searching for.

To view the 1880 census transcription (indexed for the entire country), go to www.familysearch.org, click on 'search for ancestors' then (at left) 'census'.

If this looks like the correct George White, you may want to post further notes at the Orange County, VT message board (and include names of known children).
