Masterton got it first super market in 67 or 68, Woolworth's
worked there after school for a while until I lifted my head in the middle
of a boss type war, and forgot to duck, also forgot to keep very very quiet.
Some grocers had baskets but in most you either brought your own (cane), or
just made lots of trips to the counter with each arm load and the owner kept
an eye on your selections. after all they could have just grabbed the lot
for you as they knew you as a friend.
