Does this Emmanuel Catholic Church still exist? Where is it?Have notes
that my g-g-grandparents having just arrived from the Hanover&Bremerhaven
area of Germany got married on January 10-1855. They were George B
Bauer/Bower and Ongler Maria Angelica Schmackers. They now rest in St
Patricks in Shelby county, Ohio. Is there an office and or person to
contact that could find any notes of their marriage? Did they mention
their parents? Specially George, I have notes that Maria's father was
Gerhard Henry and the witnesses were a Gerhard Henry & Margaret
Schmackers(probably a brother and sister?) The first child of this union
was a Gerhard Henry b 10-12-1855. And the Godparents were Gerhard Herman
and Fesina Schmackers. I suspect at this point the Church would have had
a home address of this family? The second child was Theresia b
5-22-1857/Godparents: Ulrich Tholen and Eva Maria Schmackers. The rest of
the children: Mary Margaret b 11-19-1855, Anna O Bauer b 1-19-1860,
Katherine!
b 11-29-1862, Rachel b 7-21-1865, Augusta M b 5-12-1866, and Peter b
11-16-1868. This family moved in 1870, to Shelby county, Ohio. Their post
office was Uno, Church was St Patricks. There must be some family in the
Dayton Area and some may even be searching for family info. I have some.
But still would like to add any info that can be found. Would be happy
for even a lead or two for info on this family. Thanks Ralph Aaron Bauer
