Nancy, Do you have any information on his age? I remember a Cobb (I
think it WAS George Cobb), who, in the early 1950's, lived some some
seven miles east of my family's home, so perhaps 10 -12 miles
southeast ("as the crow flies") of Fairview, OK. He was quite elderly
then, as was his wife. However, that location would have had an
address of Isabella, or even Okeene, OK., not Fairview. Neither the
Okeene Community History (Blue Skies and Prairie, no date, but ca
1977), nor the Major County History (Gloss Mountain Country, 1977),
mention this Cobb family. I believe that this Cobb farm was located
in Township 20N, Range 10W, perhaps Section 21, SE quarter. Listed
as owners of that quarter-section in 1906 was T. J. Fleshman, with
surrounding land owners of Jos. Bowmaker, L.S. Hodges, John A.
Kirchner, G. A. Noel, J. M. Hockett, A.S. Kirchner (a second quarter),
Thos. W. Miller, and A. Nault. Recognize any of these names? If my
dad were still alive, he could tell you about this George (?) Cobb,
and I really think that his first name WAS George. If you think this
might be a possibility, I'm certain that there are still individuals
living in the area who would remember this George Cobb.
