Zoe Ella Vogel

Zoe Ella Vogel, 85, a resident of The Dalles, died at a care facility in The Dalles on Tuesday, April 27, 2004.
She was born Feb. 26, 1919, in The Dalles, the second of three children to Archie E. and Myrtle M. (Ziegenhagen) Hall. She grew up in The Dalles and graduated from The Dalles High School with the Class of 1937.
On Oct. 30, 1937, she married Leonard Gilbert Vogel in Long Beach, Calif. They lived in The Dalles and Zoe worked at Columbia Fruit in The Dalles and then later worked at Diamond Fruit in Hood River until her retirement.
Zoe was a member of Gateway Presbyterian Church and enjoyed her family and grandchildren, the outdoors, yard work and gardening.
She is survived by her sons, Mike Vogel and his wife, Kathy, The Dalles, and Stan Vogel, Portland; grandchildren, Amanda and Jody Vogel, both of Portland; Eric Vogel and wife, Chrissy, Anaheim, Calif.; and Mark Vogel, Vancouver, Wash.; great granddaughter, Megan Vogel, The Dalles and her brother and his wife, Don and "Pete" Hall, The Dalles.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, in September 1996; her brother, Bud; her half-sister, Letha; a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Viewing visitation will be held at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home on Friday, April 30, from 2 to 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, at The Dalles 18th Street IOOF Cemetery with Dr. James Hazlett officiating.
Remembrances may be made to Hospice of the Gorge, 751 Myrtle St., The Dalles, OR 97058.
