Matthew,
None of your names are familiar to me and all my Quarles information is
for the early 1800's.., but then I don't have very much. The first one I
have is Allen Quarles, probably born in Albemarle Co., about 1800. His
wife was Druscilla Newton. Sometime before the 1850 census, he moved to
Putnam Co., VA (now WV). In addition to Allen, his wife and 3 children,
there was a a James Quarles, age 60, perhaps a brother, but when James
died , Allen gave the death information and said he was a nephew, and
parents were John and Susan. So it isn't clear what the relationship
was BETWEEN Allen AND James. My husband is descended from Allen through
his son Charles, who died at an early age, leaving his widow with 16
children. My husband's grandmother was Anna Lavinia Quarles who married
John Lewis Beard in Kanawha Co., WV. Sometime before she married the
name was changed to Qualls.
