Lil,
The Bob Hughes book shows Jonathan being the son of Jonathan and
Sousannah on page 41
just like the Dale Sandlin book shows, also it shows that Nicholas did
not have a son
named Jonathan but he did have a son named John that had a son named
Jonathan. The
Hughes book contains a total of 14 Jonathan Sandlin's. There are
probably alot more. It
is my understanding from what I have read that the name Jonathan goes
back to Scotland
as sons were always named James, John, William, Randolph and Jonathan by
order of birth.
With so many of these names in the tree I can see where the confusion
comes from. The
Hughes book doesn't show a male child named Francis anywhere in the
index.
