I used various sources for my database of emigrants from Tating. For vital
records (birth, marriage, death) I used the Tating church records which, as
the records for the whole of the Eiderstedt peninsula including Garding and
Toenning, are located at the central church archives in Garding. The
address is
Kirchenkreis Eiderstedt
Kirchbuchamt Garding
Norderring 15
25836 Garding
Germany
The archives are open only on Wednesdays from 8:00 to 12:00.
As far as I know they charge 40 Deutschmarks per hour of search. If you are
able to tell them the place and exact year of the record you are looking
for, they will probably charge only 10 Deutschmarks for a transcript of
that record.
