Where can you purchase the Grosse Shell Buch maps. They really sound nice. I
take it by the titles, probably in Germany. Also, are there specific maps to
Schleswig-Holstein and the area of Prussia around Bitburg and Trier... both
modern day maps and old ones. For the modern I would like to get a 4" to 6"
/km or mile, as I want to see each little village, etc. also would like to
find this for Luxembourg.
My worst brick wall: John Jacob Thode was born and died in Germany. Born
circa
1800. He married Marie Einstein who was born about 1803. Their son Edward was
born Sept. 18, 1837, but I believe he was either a middle or younger child,
so they may have been married about 1821-1824 or so. The births of John and
Marie may have been in the Otterndorf area, as both sons Edward and Augustus
were born there. Edward's is listed as Hadein, Otterndorf. Other children
were Henry-lived in NYC, Carl-prob. born and died in Germany, Katherine,
Caroline, and Doris.
Any help on breaking down this brick wall would be wonderful..even the LDS
film numbers of this location would be nice.
Also, trying to find Augusta Henrietta Mensing. Born Jan. 9, 1840 in ?Bremen,
Germany(what list is this?). Her mother remarried to a Mr. Scharff, maybe
when Augusta was young, since she was also known as Augusta Henrietta Scharff
in some records.
Thanks in advance for any information you might be able to give me
