I have the Holstein, Iowa Centennial Book. The article on pge 449 is on
Emil & Bertha Rohlk. It says Emil Gerhardt Bohlk was born in Wentdorf,
Holstein, Germany 10 Oct 1866, the youngest of 7 children of Hans A. &
Brooke Dittmer Rohlk. He (Emil) came to America in 1883 when he was 16 and
came directly to Holstein, Iowa and lived with his brothers who had come
before him.

On the following page, #450, is a bio of his brother Henry which says he
was born in Wendtdorf, Schleswig-Holstein 11 Sep 1852 and came to America
in 1874 staying for a time in Scott Co., before coming to Holstein in Ida
Co.

No further information is given on the parentage of either Hans or Brooke,
but you have a town in the Probstei (Wentdorf) in which to search.
