Please tell me whether John Bowman (please try Boughman, Baughman, and
other variations), born 1743 or 1744, is in Strassburger's 'Pensylvania
German Pioneers'. This is not a Schleswig-Holstein ancestor; a family
biographer says he was from Germany but not specifically where. I do
not know either when he came to America and merely expect that he came
by way of the Philadelphia and may have been in southeast Pennsylvania
for a while. He did go to Maryland, then western Pennsylvania, then
eastern Ohio, so he did not establish roots in Pennsylvania.

Any help on John Bowman will be appreciated. Margaret
