Subject: Giekau Workshop the Town and Families so Far

Dear Giekau researchers:

Listed below are the names of some the towns and families that will be
involved in the Giekau workshop day in Mineola, Iowa this summer. At this time
we are still working on a date that will work for the most people that wish
to attend. Knowing that because of distance many people will not be able to
attend. We still hope that many people will send in their descendant charts for
Giekau family members. These will be compiled and sent back to anyone that
wants them.

A number of people have sent copies of census for the Giekau,
Lutjenburg, Hohenfelde ,Gut Schmöl and Gut Panker area. I hope to put all of these
onto an Excel file and a copy of these will also be available to anyone that
wants one when they are finished.

Pictures from any of the town in the Giekau district would also be
appreciated. I have collected some but you all know that you can never have to
many pictures.

I have some histories of the area (some still in German in case anyone
would want to help with that part) but if anyone has some they would be willing
to share that would also be helpful.

I will list the towns and family names below but I would sure like to
thank all the very kind people that have sent in census records and information
so far.

PS If you do think you could attend this workshop what Sat. between June 19
and Sept. 25, 2994 works the best for you. I know that we can't keep everyone
happy but we can try to do the best we can.
