My gr.grandfather Melf Schwien came to New York in the late 1800's and later
came to California. He was b. in 1862 in Bredstedt. He married Wihemina
Schleyer who was the daughter of Wilhelm or Henry Schleyer from Midlum near
Cuxhaven. Melf and Wilhelmine raised two daughters in Bordlum
Schleswig-Holstein. Wihemina had a sister Helene who married Adolf Siers.
Wilhemina had two brothers Heny and William.
Melf Schwien had three siblings, Carl, Wilhelm, and Marie. I am seeking
decendents of those listed or anyone researcing the Schwien, or Schleyer
families of Schleswig Holstein.
