What Meyer and where were they from? I havae min marrying in maquoketa jackson county in 1882. near his image in census of 1880 was mention ofa Peter meir , i thin i recalled that right. and a few others. I saw the name michel too. there was a family of meyer in germany with michel......... also meyer with schroeder......... and wondering if yours could be the same. also many who moved to greene and calhoun county area near the church of st. peters close to farnhamville were from clinton and goose lake. they were founding fathers... such as carstensen, hansen, petersen, nahnsen. swab, gross.
these married into my nahnsen families and meyer into nahnsen, etc.
any hlep appreciated.
Have you marriages at maquoketa and how does one get records from there.
