Hello Jencr, Thanks for prompt reply. I have the 1870 date from my own copy of a Nat. Cert. with the Haderslev details which tally with the Vic. BDMs. I have been unable to find a ship with name of 'Anna Dorothy' which appeared to have been altered in the application form and listed his nationality as Danish (at time of his birth 1850/51 (birth and baptism). I have found various variations of the name 'Anna Dorothea' an 'Anna' shipwreck, another 'Hanna Dorothy' etc.
The 1872 date came from a list of ship's deserters in Qld.
This did not give a ship name but listed this H.C. Frandsen as a German departing from Hamburg which also tallied with the changing history of area.
The Victorian info. has satisfied most of my Australian searching but before spending money in Denmark, it seems best to check out all possibilities because of the language barrier. I have attempted to learn Danish but probably left it too late in life.
Good luck with your own research.
