I am trying to find Alexander Hamilton Shrenk/Schrenk
in the 1860 census. He would have been about nine
years old. His parents died before then in Ohio and he
was an orphan. His two sisters and brother were older
and sent to Harrisburg, Dauphin co.,PA to visit a
relative who was in the medical field (doctor?) but by
1860 they returned to Ohio. I have found all of them
in Ohio but not A. H. Shrenk. He would have been
living with a relative in PA. I think Harrisburg
because that is where he married and lived his life. I
am getting frustrated with the 1860 census!!

HISTORY BACKGROUND:
Alexander Hamilton born 12 NOV 1851 in Fremont, OH
to John and Jane (Faloon/Falloon) Shrenk. He married
on 17 OCT 1876 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Mary
WELLS, daughter of William and Catharine (DUBBS)
WELLS. Mary was born 15 JULY 1856. A.H. had an Auction
and Furniture Business in Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., PA
in 1890. Their children were Charles Wells born 15
APRIL 1878 , Murray Hamilton born 17 JULY 1880, James
Lereu born 27 NOV 1886 and Paul B. SHRENK. In 1930, in
the Harrisburg City directory they are listed as Alex
H. and Mary Shrenk, 1906 N. 6th. Some of the SHRENK
family may have also lived in Lancaster and Delaware
Co., PA. It is believed that Murray Shrenk b.
1905,Norman Shrenk b. 1907, Ruth born 1913 and Paul
born 1893 and lived Delaware Co., PA are relatives of
this family.
