Dear Schuster Researcher: My name Fred Schuster and I have been searching out the Schuster family for more than 20 years now. The names you provided Paul, Bob (Robert), Allen and Bud are all in my family line. Paul and Robert are very common names. Allen and Bud not so common. Bud has been used in my family for a nickname (possilbe that it is a nickname).

I grew up in Macomb County Michigan and most of my family roots are on the east side of Michigan as are many of the early Schuster's. Michigan has closed records making it hard to find out information.

If i can help in any way let me know. I need to have more information, ie dates of birth or deaths and I would be willing to help do some leg work for you. I am wondering if Close is really Clore; as Clore, Schuster and Schoenherr are names that come together in my tree.

In the early part of the century, it was uncommon for a Schuster to marry outside of the German heritage.

As for searching the German records, they are very difficult to find as Schuster is as common in Germany as Smith or Jones is in the United States. I went to Germany and spent 16 days in the country doing research to find links to my family in churches.

I hope I have provided some assurance that there is hope.

Frederick Allen Schuster
Upland, Ca
