Subject: [SD-CENSUS-LOOKUP] 1900 census lookup- clarifying
Date: Tue, 19 Jun 2001 14:18:50 EDT

I have had someone who did not understand so I thought I would spell it out
to save anyone else from this problem.

I am only offering to do a 1900 census lookup in this state in which you
subscribe to the mailing list that you recieve this post in. I do lookups in
several states, if you subscribe to that state you know what states I do.
I am sorry that I cannot do lookups in all 50 states but you must see that as
a task that should be asked of no one person.
Thank you all who have asked for lookups as I have asked it is much
appreciated to get all the info I need to hopefully be able to find your
families.

Here is something I write to all that I am unable to find family for as it
may help you even before you ask.And below that is again the info I need.

I did not find the name you were looking for. This only means that they are
not listed in the index, this could be due to the index missing people on the
actual census or a misspelling of the name, even minor things like a
transposition of 2 letters. It is always a good thing to go through the
county of interest page by page. I know this from experience as I have the
index and could not find some of my MO family. I then bought that census and
spent the time to go through it page by page, viola' I found them.

I need:

Full name: First, Middle and Last
age they would be in 1900
county
State to look in
state Born

things that may help:
spouses name
and don't forget that middle name or initial some people are only listed with
first and middle initials
