Marilyn: Thank you very much for replying (both times) with such great information. Yes, I am searching for Israel Purdy, but Israel Merrick Purdy, father of Israel Walter Purdy who settled in Moody Co. Walter was married to Anna Belle Hess, whose family they followed to Moody Co. from Ohio. Your clue as to Erickson is plausible and probably correct as another respondant said she is familiar with an Erickson Cemetery in that general area. Since Merrick and his wife were living near Blue Earth, MN at the time, I can only surmise that they were visiting their son and family over the holidays and died while there and that the Erickson cemetery was the closest.
