Israel M. PURDY, 64, farmer, NY DE DE, & wf. Nancy, 60, PA PA PA, are on the 1880 Census at Elmore, Faribault, MN. That's south of Blue Earth, on the Minnesota - Iowa line.

Israel PURDY, 24, MN OH OH; wf. Mary, MN IN IN; son John 2 MN, Twp. 107, Moody Co., DT.

The latter information about where Israel's parents were born may be a clue to the migration pattern. Census data is only as accurate as the knowledge of the informant and skill of the census taker.
