Hi Jack, Sharon, Van, MaryAnn....and all,

Thought I had sent a msg..but came back because my HTML was turned on for
some reason. Now have plain text on so should be okay. I hope.

I know Jack and have recently been talking with Sharon so they know my line.
For those that don't I will give you some clues and hopefully we can connect
or help each other in our research.

I descend from John Saylor b. abt 1770 m. Mary Ann Minear 1795 in Randolph
Co. WV (VA). John died late 1843 or early 1844. I have a copy of his will
dated 14 Aug 1843, recorded 8 Jan 1844. In this will he names three
children..Jonathan, Nancy, Delilah and wife Polly. Polly being a nickname
for Mary Ann I believe. I descend from Jonathan who married Lucinda
Elliott. I do have info on Nancy m. William Bedell and Delilah m. (1) James
Alley, (2) Abraham Ellington. Would gladly share info if anyone is
interested. Most all I have is documented. My own research leads me to
believe that John and Mary Ann had other children...possibly up to 3 others.
It is possible that Elizabeth Saylor who married Daniel Peveler was also
their daughter..but I have no proof. Who the other 2 possible children were
is still a mystery.

Mary Ann Minear is the daughter of John Minear b. 1730. There are several
John Minears (various spellings) and it can get very confusing as to which
John Minear someone is talking about. It is thought that at least 3 of the
Minear children married into the Saylor family...there is a strong tie
between these two families.

I am having a terrible time locating and documenting parents and siblings of
John Saylor b. abt 1770. I have my own conclusions from research but having
documentation is a different story. It is thought that John's parents were
John Saylor b. abt 1742 and Elizabeth ? Jack Saylor and I have one theory
on who John and Elizabeth are but can not prove it can we Jack!

Would love anything on the above people...or the following:
Frederick Saylor b. 1767
Catherine Saylor m. David Minear (I do have some of her info)
John JR b. abt 1770 m. Mary Ann Minear (my line)
Mathias...I really believe he died as a young child or teenager and
never married or had children. This has not been proven
though so if any one knows different please let me know.
William....nothing definite is known. I have found some researchers
and info on a William B. Saylor but can not determine
if William B. and William are one and the same or two
different...of if William has been included as a sibling
in
error.
Emanuel....I do have info. This family ended up in Montgomery Co.,
MO. along with the Daniel Peveler family, and some of
Cobb family.
Sarah.....m Samuel Cobb JR...I do have info
Hannah.....who married John/Jonathan Minear b. 1780 (son of
John Minear b. 1756, son of John b. 1730). It is
thought
that Hannah belongs in this family as a sibling. I
have no
proof what so ever. I do have list of her children.

I realize this is a brief summary and I have not given any documentation. I
would be happy to tell how I tie these kids together with John and Elizabeth
should anyone be interested. I do have census indicating the Saylor/Sailor
family to be in Montgomery Co and Bath Co during the years 1810 -1840.

Does anyone have census for 1800 for Saylor in these areas? Prior to being
in KY my family was in VA (now WV)...Randolph, Harrison Counties. I am not
sure when the family made the move from VA to KY..

I have posted this to both the Saylor and Seyler list...if everyone is on
both lists then let me know and I won't do so again. No sense in everyone
getting double postings. I tried to also get on the Sailor list but that
did not go through. Is that list not active? I have found both Saylor and
Sailor spellings for my family...and a feeling that it started out as
Seyler. Have any of you found this to be true with your family?

Would love to hear from you all. anyone connect with the above families?
Thanks for listening and let me know if you have any questions, ideas,
clues, etc. I won't be quite so windy with my next posting..I hope. ;)

Here's hoping we can help each other..
Peggy
