Hi my Sheards are also from Mirfield but so far I've not found any links to
your George or Mary.

The 1881 census lists several George SHEARDs which are old enough to be your
particular George.

Unfortunately as you probably have noticed the SHEARD family has been in
Mirfield since the last ice age. You probably will have better luck finding "Mr
Chan in Beijing" Sheard is one of the most common names in town

Why was everybody in Mirfield named George and Mary?
