I've noticed several listings lately in the wealth of information that has
been coming in that could be possible connections...but because I have done
so little research on my Smith's...I thought there would be better results
if I posted my information and let anyone who might recognize a familiar
name contact me. Would love to find William Alfonza's ancestry, especially!
Here goes:
(Census listings referred to below were in Escambia County Florida.)

1869, in GA,
both parents born in GA.
Wife: Mary Alice Eugenia Watkins Smith, listed on 1920 census as 50 yrs.
old, born June 6, 1869, in GA, both parents born in GA. Mary's parents were
Jason H. Watkins and Mary Youngblood Watkins.
Their children were:
1) Ivy Lee Smith, born Sept. 22, 1890, in GA. Ivy's husband, Cecil Hovey,
listed on 1920 census as 31 yrs. old, born in WV.
2) Willie Acquilla Smith (my grandmother) listed on 1920 census as Willie
A.
Cardon, 28 yrs. old, born Oct. 9, 1892, in GA, ....Willie was wife of Joseph
N. Cardon.
Also listed on same census are five of Willie and Joseph's children.

1893, in GA.
4) Marie Theresa Smith, listed on 1920 census as Marie T. Highnote, 20
yrs.
old, born Feb. 5th, 1898, in GA...husband Vernon G. Highnote was born May
19, 1898, in FL, both his parents listed as born in FL.
5) Eugene Weed Smith, listed on 1920 census as 7 yrs. old, born June 11,
1912, in FL. Further family history is that he married Georgina Landwehr.
Birthdates for above named Smith's came from a copy of a family Bible.
E-mail me at if anyone can help with William's
ancestors...please!
