Subject: Re: [SMITH-L] Smith from Mayflower Descendant Tree
Date: Mon, 11 Oct 1999 17:59:31 EDT
This from "Peter Smith of Jamaica, Long Island, and some of his Descendants"
contributed by Samuel Stelle Smith. 1954
Peter6 SMITH was born Dec. 4, 1794, in Piscataway, NJ and died there Dec. 2,
1853. He lived in the old family homestead on Raritan Landing Road, having
inherited one half of the property from his father, Oct. 30, 1817. Peter was
active in the civic life of the community and took a prominent part in the
affairs of the First Baptist Church of Piscataway, serving as Deacon from
1839 until his death. On Aug. 31, 1820, he married Sarah STELLE who was born
in 1802 and died Apr. 20, 1890, in Piscataway, a daughter of David STELLE and
his wife Rachel RUNYON. Through her paternal grandmother, Sarah DUNHAM, Sarah
was a descendant of the Mayflower passenger, Edward FULLER.

This is so far the only reference I have in my records about a Smith
connection and the Mayflower, hopefully someone else might.
