Hello All,
I am looking for information on an EDWARD SMITH who came to MO in 1837. He probably came into Clay County first awaiting the opening of PLATTE Co. He was born in NC in 1814. He was very well educated. He was one of the earliest pioneers of Platte Co. MO. He married a Lucinda McClain in 1842. He taught school for many years. He was killed in the "Border Wars" between KS and MO in 1854. Please contact me if any of this sounds familiar.
Thanks
Debbie
