Hi--Recently joined. Question: do you have an archive of searchable queries
for SMITH?

Here is my known SMITH family info:
my great-great-grandmother's gravestone @Snow Hill Memorial
Cemetary, Ashburn, Turner Co. GA
Nancy A. SMITH - wife of Jesse SHEPHERD
Dec. 21 186_ (?) - March 31, 1900

Since the SHEPHERD family migrated from Upson Co. GA to Turner Co.
GA on Dec. 15, 1900, I suspect that Nancy SMITH was later re-interred at
the above location. There is a blank space next to her grave, which the
family suspects may be husband Jesse/Jessie SHEPHERD, but no marker to verify.

Description:
Nancy
A. Smith, dtr. of Leonard A.
Smith
was the wife of Jesse
Shepherd
and mother of Wiley Clay
Shepherd
and George Shepherd,
among
others. We have an 1850
Census
Record for Dooly Co. GA
which
lists Jesse & Nancy and some
of
their children.

[Nancy SMITH died exactly 16 years before my father, James Robert SHEPHERD,
was born March 31, 1916 in Turner Co. GA]

There was some indication in a letter from an Aunt (Lucile
Shepherd-Langley) that Nancy Smith and her father had moved around a
bit--perhaps indicating Nancy's mother had died.

Anyone out there have any connections or clues where to search next?

Thanks!

Janice Shepherd-Beever
