Hi Jan,

Rumor has it that our Smith family is also from VT. My GGgrandfather
Freeman Orange Smith was born 14 Jan 1814. But the story gets murky from
there-almost all census say OH but a couple say VT, and his son Ben's death
cert. says VT.

His parents were take your choice David and Asenath or Daniel and
Elizabeth. I do know that Freeman married Mary Ann Wholf (sometimes
spelled Wolfe). Freeman had three sisters that I know of : Elizabeth b
1816 OH m James Sullivan Tufts, Marilla Jane b 1821 OH m Moses Mann and
Rosetta Sarah b OH m David Campbell.

Do any of these names ring any bells with you? Thanks for any help you
might be able to give me. Carol
