Do you have any more descendants to go along with your John Smith ? He is
a tough one when researching his name alone. What Region are we looking
at in Maine [ county or town] ? I'm sure that I do have something as I
have grabbed up about any name which has Smith on it . My line was from
James Smith who was in Trenton [near Bar Harbor, Me. ]. I think he came
from Saco- Biddeford area . There was a John Smith in the old records in
1790s and early 1780s. There was one mentioned in southern Maine . Give
me a few more names to help isolate the one that we are talking about. I
have a lot of the Job Smith line which was vast .
