I am looking for information about my great-grandfather, Joseph Mayberry Smith, born 1820 in North Carolina, married in 1843 to Eliza Stamey in Catawba County, moved in the 1860s to Burke County, south of Morganton. Among Joseph and Eliza's Smith's children were Martha Jane, born 1862, and Elias Leander, born 1866. Martha married Peter P. Mull. Leander was my grandfather. Any information or suggestions welcome and much appreciated!
