CHARLES E. SMITH SR.
78, of Union Beach died Sunday Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was
an Electrical worker for Western Electric,Kearny.He was an Army Air Corps
Veteran of World War II.
He was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church Union Beach. He
loved to go fishing. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Union Beach for 39
years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Clementina Sakrzewska Smith.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Dorothy M. Smith, three sons Dennis C.
Smith of Whiting Manchester.Charles E. Smith of Merrimack, N.H., and Daniel
Smith of Middletown; a daughter, Gail E. Smith of Long Branch; a brother
Raymond Smith of Point Pleasant; a sister, Helen Bernsten of South Orange;
and three grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Timmy Kanski, and Taylor Lynn Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held thursday at Holy Family Church,Union
Beach. Interment was in Saint Joseph's Cemetery , Keyport. Bedle Funeral
Home, 61 Broad St., Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.
