You might want to see if Wisconsin GenWeb has their 1860 and 1870 Census on
line for all of their counties. I needed to find my great grandparents in
New York and only had the State. I had both great grandfather' name and
great grandmothers' maiden name so I found that the State Of New York had
the 1850 and 1855 Census on line and it took me a month to search all 67
counties from both Census' record and I did find them. I also found my
Smith family and where they were living but nothing before the time I found
them. They are still hanging about somewhere in Oswego County, New York.
Try the same withWisconsind and see what you come up with.
