I think I need to try this Smith line once more. I have a Redden Colon
Smith,bFeb 6 1875 in Horry County S.C., his mother was Elizabeth Smith, brn
abt 1840 in N.C. No husband can be found, Redden had a son , Thurman Clayton
Smith, b April 15 ,1912 in Horry County, S.C.. I find a Clayton Smith in
Robeson County N.C. in the 1850 census who is 27 years old from S.C., in a
household with Margaret Smith age 31, Flora age 1, Sam 21 and Colon age 15.
All are listed in the census as being fromN.C. with the exception of Clayton
who is listed from S.C. Who is the husband , SAM or Clayton, and who is
Colon, is he a brother or are they all three brothers. Is it just a
coincidence that the name Colon and Clayton and Redden are still in the
family today. Helpplease.
