I'm not sure if you were addressing me or another Shirley in the Smith list.
I don't believe my Smiths were in AL or GA. Only TN from NC. Some of them
married Hamms who were born in AL and moved to TN. Did you see the posts
from Ginger and Jean? They sound like they might be closer to your Smiths.
I believe the Cherokee removal began in the 1830's and was before the time of
the Smiths you were inquiring about.
