I have a Fleet Smith b. 1837, Union Co. SC to Thomas Smith & Amy (amanda) Duke. He was murdered by "Regulators" in Calhoun Co. MS while visiting his pregnant wife while serving in Ballentine's Partisan Rangers, MS Cavalry CSA.

He was the brother of my Great-grandfather Giles Smith b. 1835 Union Co. SC, d. August 1885, Calhoun Co. MS.

Fleet was married to Elizabeth Bounds, neice of Giles wife, Rebecca Bounds.

I have been trying for many years to locate Fleet's descendants through his only surviving child, John Dee "Bunk" Smith who is buried in the Pittsboro city Cem. Calhoun Co. MS.

Robert Fleet Smith III
