I have SMITHs on both my father's and Mother's sides of the family and by coincidence, I am popping in to the Family Records Centre on Saturday to collect the birth certificate for my grandmother - Mabel Ellen Smith.

While I am there I will look in the register for the 1st quarter of 1852 to see if I can locate an entry for your great-grandmother, Emma Smith, born in the County of Somerset.
