Hello, I am searching for any information on the Smith's (of North Carolina or originating there) as well. Your family may know of or be related to mine. My Great great grandmother was Eleanor or Ellen Smith, she married Henry P. Nelson Smith, my great grandmother (Laura Mabel Smith was born July 21, 1873. She graduated St Augustine's College and moved North to teach at abt. 1900. She settled in Newark, New Jersey, She had one daughter, Johanna Eleanor Lewis). She was one of 11 children. The children of Eleanor and Henry were, Robert, Richard (Moved North West to Cleveland Ohio), Charles (lived various places and was a pullman porter), Henry Jr., Laura, Edward, Julia, Elizabeth, Ellen (IS THIS YOUR ELLEN? did she have any of these siblings?) also, Mary and Martha. Any information you have or can pass along to lead me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and good luck on your search.
