Please excuse me if I seem presumptuous, but I noticed you have the city and
county reversed in Alabama. Decatur, Alabama is in Morgan County. Just
thought I would mention it.

By the way, there is a SMITH-AL list on rootsweb.

My mother's maiden name was Smith, and her line was from North Alabama in
Limestone County and surrounding area.

Subject: [SMITH] William M. Smith

It's been a while since I have asked for help on my William Smith. He was
born in 1795 in VA and died July 19, 1846 in Morgan, Decatur County, AL. He
married (1) Elizabeth Gardiner (2) Ann Greer. The first marriage is my line.
I have 13 children listed for them. They were married Aug. 5, 1819 in Knox
County, TN. One of their sons is Stephen Paton Smith b. 1828. He married
Elizabeth Lyons. The other children are my main interest. They are:
Nancy, Charles, Albert, John, Otho, Orlando, Susan, Sarah, William, Jr.,
Martha, Emily, and Samuel. Does anyone have any information on these
children?
