It's nice to hear other people have a brick wall on a "Smith." My mother
started looking for her gr gr grandfather Avery Smith and she passed away in
1998 and I have taken over and still looking for Avery Smith. So it has
been more than 10 years. I have no information on his parents or siblings.
He was b abt. 1794 in NY in the 1820, 1830 census in Tioga, PA. Removed to
MO and had land in 1836. In 1840 and 1850 census in Kingston, Caldwell
County, MO. His wife Abigail was in 1860 census so he died between 1850 and
1860. He married Abigail Rose around 1820 or 1821 in PA (I think.) Had a
child named Commodore 1823 and died an infant, had Cornelia Ann 1825,
Freeman M. 1831 in PA, Mark 1837 and Martha Ann 1839 in MO. I have no
information on Freeman or Mark or information of their births, etc. Family
says died in Civil War. There is a Freeman in CA in the census that match
the dates but really don't know if he is the one. I have information on
Cornelia Ann and Martha Ann Smith. His wife Abigail Rose I have traced back
to Mayflower. But nothing on Avery Smith. I keep trying though and am
encouraged when I hear of other people having brick walls on Smith. Good

I moved to Florida this past Aug from Long Island, New York
In New York I had FHS to do my research on my Smith family.
I have HQ from my home computer, but I noticed some surnames
are missing. I hard to do research from Florida. Since I have my
grandfathers birth record and his address where he was born.
I looked up churches in that area and sent for his Baptism and
also hoping his parents were married at the same church, I also asked
for a marriage record on his parents. Maybe the church has some information

on both of them.
